Ilove ride alongs. :-). Florida is very Nivea and the streets are wide like San Diego. We have a similar sounding voice. Do you ever get mistaken for a child over the phone? Although, it has come in handy for me when telemarketers call, LOL. I can't wait to see the next vids. The Goodwill that opened up behind me, doesn't carry toys..,so I was a little bummed. Anyway, I can live vicariously through your store. :-)
Oh good Lord. *autocorrect* "I love ridealongs" and "Florida is very nice"....
"... very Nivea..." LOL, Tracy. I was like, "Nivea? What does that mean?" I was about to look it up when your second comment came in. I live in the big city now and the streets are wider here than when I go back to the smaller country area where I was raised. I guess city folk need wider roads for fancy cars... or it's probably for the buses, lol.I get mistaken for a white person on the phone a lot, but never a child. I do get carded though when I want to buy a lotto ticket unless my big boobies are showing. Most of my Goodwill's don't carry toys either, just stuffed animals! In fact the only one closet to me that does is the one that I give all my toy donations to so they don't trickle back to my main store and I end up buying them again.
This store has so much toys! Lucky you to have such a great thrift store in your area! I can't wait to see what you bought :-)
Lots and lots of toys, Night Owl! It's the best!
That is a AMAZING thrift store. The couple of really awesome ones I visited with my parents when we roamed afield still weren't quite quite in that league, and nothing here in the Phoenix area comes close.Looking forward to seeing the haul...
Smaller, in my travels all over Florida it's the best thrift store I've come across and luckily I can pass by it 4 times a week. I control myself to going only one day a week though, lol.
Applause! I'm staying tuned for future blog videos. I wanna see the doll STUFF!(Oh and the scenic stuff is nice to see, too. I can say I've seen Jacksonville, FL without crossing the PA state line, lol.)
D7ana, the next video is called, "Thrift Store Stuff!" LOL. It wont be up until Thursday evening or Friday though. I'm trying to make sure I have one completed and ready to post before I start on the next one. I actually had more scenic shots but then it would have turned into a travelogue about Jacksonville so I cut it out. The stuff at the beginning was one of my walking routes.
OMG!! Your thrift store has so many toys! I bet you picked up the Michael Jackson doll. ; ) I saw a few items I would have gotten had I been there. This video was good. I can't wait to see all of your goodies.
Georgia Girl, I actually did not get that Michael Jackson. That's the hairstyle he had when his hair caught on fire and that's all I saw every time I looked at it. He was there for a while too but someone finally snatched him up.
Cool video! You're voice sounds very sweet and friendly :) That thrift store is much bigger than the ones we have in San Diego, and yeah the Goodwills around here don't carry dolls either, but some other thrift stores do. I was amazed to find a vintage mod-era Barbie and a Tutti at one recently. I felt like I had won the lottery! LOL!
Blackiegracie, that's exactly what it feels like when you find something awesome at the thrift store.
Virtual field trips are awesome. Looking forward to the follow-up posts!
Thanks, Jewell! The next video will be up next week.
Film fantastyczny! Sklep również! Jestem mile zaskoczona jakie piękne zabawki można tam kupić! U nas nie ma podobnych sklepów! Pokazuj częściej takie filmiki. Twój głos jest taki przyjemny :-)Pozdrawiam z Polski!
Dziękuję bardzo, Olla! Mam nadzieję, że do wysyłania więcej filmów.
Wow, that is one huge op shop. All our local op shops are small with maybe one small shelf for toys and often just a box of dolls. Nothing is packaged and the only advantage we have is we can see and handle the dolls before we buy them. I can't wait to see the next video.
Carrickters, our thrift stores really vary in sizes. Sometime you will find a little mom and pop type store but Goodwill brands are huge, almost department size. Even our humane society has a thrift store and it's pretty big too.
Your third store is wonderful, really huge! All those cars, dolls, ect. There was even Michael Jackson doll! Almost as beautful as he was.You had really great idea to make this video, I'm waiting for more to come :)
Jewel Snake, that Michael Jackson doll was a very good likeness. He's actually the first MJ doll I've ever seen.
That thrift store looks awesome. And I love the fact that they named it that - they know perfectly well this is THE thrift store in the area! Interesting that the inconsistent pricing seems to be a universal phenomenon.
Anderson, I never really paid any attention to the fact that the store is called "THE" Thrift Store, LOL. I guess they want to show everyone who is boss.
I enjoyed the trip to your thrift store, Muff. I will stay tuned to see the goodies you found.dbg
Thanks, Debbie! Please come again next week for the next video. ^_^
I love ride alongs, too. My girlfriend just moved back to Jacksonville, now I have an even better incentive to come see her. Yes, that is a huge store. Shoes for days. What a shame they jacked the prices up. I'm sure you can still get some great deals, and I'm anxious to see yours! I'll be tuning in for the next video.
Vanessa, your friend is going to be like, "I thought you came to see me, not a store!" LOL
This video was great fun! And wow, your thrift store is huge!Shame that the pricing became random, but at least there's still a wide selection of toys.
Thanks, jSarie! Even with the wacky pricing they have going on now, I'm still able to find some sweet bargains.
That is an amazing amount of toys! Enjoy it while you can. A few of the thrift stores in our area have recently removed their toy sections much to my horror. When I asked why, they said that the toy section was "too untidy" and another said they could not be sure if the toys met safety regulations and did not want to put children at risk. What?!?!?!?!?! That had to be the most bizarre thing I have ever heard in my life!Great video by the way! Looking forward to more.
Isabelle, now you got me worried about the toy section! I was going to scale back on my thrifting but now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't, lol.
Hi Muff! thanks for sharing. I always wanted to visit a thrift store, there's a lot of stuff and the prices are tempting!Kisses Billa
Hiya, Billa! Not all thrift stores are like this one. This one has a magical unicorn quality, lol.
Thanks for taking us on this ride along. I agree that you probably have the best thrift store ever! I have been to several in my area and NONE have the kind of selection of toys, let alone dolls, that yours does. I will keep looking though! If I ever visit Jacksonville, I will be sure to stop at this store!
Phyllis, that thrift store is the best reason to even visit Jacksonville. Not much else is happening here.
Oh man, I'm dying of jealousy over here! Everything's so clean and organized!
Presto, it always seems like there about 20 workers on the floor at any given time. They keep the place tidy and yell at the kids who are playing with the merchandise. It can get messy though, but they keep on top of it.
Ok so you are so wrong for letting us know the address, that will be like a must see, have to go tourist stop for me. I could be in there for hours!!
LOL, Brini! Of course, I gave the address. I'm trying to enable.. uh, I mean, I'm trying to help a sister out.
Hey Muff, thanks for the video! They seem to have a vast toys section it also looked very neat! I use to have a MJ doll just like that one. Had I'd known I'd enjoy barbie as an adult I would have never given my dolls, doll house, cars, etc away to my younger cousins who never appreciated them as I did.
You're welcome, AG! You and me both! Too bad I didn't have interest in Barbie as a kid because I have missed out on some great dolls and sets. Luckily I'm finding some neato things at the thrift store.
Hello from Spain: I really like your video and music. Your doing a great job. I need to go to Florida. The road is how I see in the American series. For my country Florida's sun and shopping. You are fortunate to live in Florida. This shop is very cheap. A very nice site. Hopefully I win the lottery and I can travel to your city. It is a very expensive destination from Europe. A pity! Keep in touch
Hi, Marta! I do enjoy living in Florida. I could do without the hurricanes, but other than that, it's alright. When you win the lottery, please do stop by! ^_^
One time when I called my cousin, her husband answered, and I could hear him yell to my cousin, "There's a little girl on the phone for you!" I was in my thirties at the time.Nice video. I don't know of any thrift store near me that has the selection that yours does, at least when it comes to toys.
LOL, Barb! I don't notice my voice except when my sinuses make it go hoarse, so it sounds normal to me.
Awww! So, so cute!!
Thanks, Sergio! ^___^
Ok, why was I getting excited and wanted to buy those dolls. I felt like...Muff...get that one!! LOL I hope you did get that AA doll (Tiana?)She was articulated in a few places there...Ok lets see what you came out with from your trips there. This is going to be fun! I would have bought MJ too among others.
That excitement is what I love about this thrift store, Grandmommy! You never know what you are going to find and every trip is an adventure.
OK, so this video post didn't show up under "my blogs" but the one above it did! Go figure. I'm glad I saw your posts some how. This looks like a great place! After that whole China thing, many thrift stores stopped carrying toys. I great that you found one that still does. What a selection! I might have to work there to pay off my toy bill. The prices do seem to be fluctuating. I would be there for hours going over everything.
