Kohl's is Cray Cray & Rock 'N' Roll Plaid Fashionista

I went to Kohl's over the weekend because they were having a $29.99 sale on select Skechers walking shoes. I know they also have a little toy department so I mosey over to check it out and the prices were RIDICULOUS! Yes, I realize it's a department store, not a discount store, but still!

Clothing packs are $8 - $10 elsewhere

Sisters $20 and Shoe Sets $16 elsewhere

Kids/Basic Barbies $5-$7 elsewhere

Fashionistas $8 elsewhere

And although everything was 20% off, even with that discount, it's more than the full price you would pay any place else.

And speaking of Walmart, lol, I haven't seen this girl in stores yet, but she's currently at Walmart Online [for $7.94] for anyone interested. I think she's gorgeous!

What's Going On at my Walmart

I had to stop by Walmart today and of course visited the toy section. I only had a little bit of time so I didn't go up and down every single isle like I usually do. I looked at half of the Barbie isle and then booked it out of there. Not many new things in stock, but still some I hadn't seen in person yet.

I think these are the last 3 from this particular series

I'm so over Mattel clothes. Sparkle Girlz spoiled me with their cheap cuteness.

A three story camper! That seems a tad excessive, even for Barbie.

I remember Vanessa said in her post from January of this year, that Bratz stuff was on sale at TRU. Guess Walmart is catching up.

This is new to me and I didn't realize until I was looking at the photos later, that there is no doll in the box, just an extremely good photo cutout.

Selling Online

I like selling at doll shows but it's so much work to cart all the goods and set it all up and take it all down and blah, blah, blah. I do have a doll show coming up on May 7th, but decided it would be my last one for this year. I still want to sell stuff though and looked into the various online options like eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Facebook, etc.

In the end I set up [My Shop] with [Square] for a variety of reasons. For one I use them to accept credit cards at doll shows so I already have all my inventory listed in their app. For another, unlike Etsy, I can sell any old junk, not just handcrafted stuff. The number one reason though was the cost. The store and image hosting are free and they take about 3%+30 cents per transaction, unlike the 13% eBay and Paypal take combined.

All these images are from the Square website:

Although I like the features it has, I will say the platform is very limiting, the mobile version is not optimized at all and you can only sell within your own country, so no international shipping. They have a [forum] that is full of complaints about the store and the Square service itself. Some complaints are valid and some people want a little too much from a free service. Like right now my store is down and missing from the server - but it's free, lol, so hey, you get what you pay for.

Anyway, for me, it's cheaper and less restricting than other options out there. Would I personally recommend it? Errrr. Well, if you are looking to make a living from it, then no. If you want to randomly sell some doll stuff, then yes.
